Chitwan Region, Nepal
Chitwan is Situated 170 kms (only a half-hour flight) southwest of Kathmandu, this is one of Nepal's largest forest region, with a wide range of wildlife – the rare great one horned rhinoceros, several species of deer, sloth bear, leopard, wild boar, fresh water dolphin, crocodile, and the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.This park has a particularly rich flora and fauna boasting more than 450 species of birds. Resorts within the park facilitate safaris on elephant back (subject to operation by park authorities), boat ride or jeep drives.
