In the summer of 2010, I went on a trek in the Annapurna Valley with my father, my sister and two close friends. The idea was to reach the base camp of the Tilicho summit (7210m) and from there climb as much as we could. Pemba, whom Jim knows for more than 15 years, was our lead Sherpa. Prior to our arrival in Katmandu, he did an astonishing job at preparing and organizing the trip. When we arrived in Nepal, everything was set forth and put in place to start walking on the way to Tilicho, heading for Mesocanto pass. Carriers and mules followed us from Jomsom, while members of the organization staff (the cook, two other sherpas and carriers) were already on site to prepare the camp. Sherpas had started climbing the mountain, fixing ropes on site wherever needed and setting up camp 1. The staff was very dedicated, professional and always concerned for our well-being. The comfort and level of quality of the organization (Bespoken Himalayan Treks) was simply amazing, attention was given to everything (sleeping, eating, luggage attention), and even hot showers were available at the Base camp!
We had fantastic weather conditions but one of our team members couldn’t make it because of the altitude. Everything was taken care of very professionally and he was successfully evacuated to Kathmandu. Once at camp II, we realized that snow condition would prevent us from reaching the top. We then decided to trek down all the way to Pokhara. Ang Pemba was extremely efficient to re-route and re-organize the journey on the go, book lodges and adapt the trip to our demands. I have been several times to Nepal and it was the first time that everything was so well organized, with such high quality standards. I can only recommend Pemba for treks, expeditions and my next trip to Nepal will be organized by Pemba as I am confident he will accommodate my requests. I know Pemba can easily grasp what people are looking

September/Oct of last year 2008 a group of friends, 10 of us in all, spent 2 weeks trekking in the Dhauligiri area of Nepal. (STUNNING).The chief Sherpa on this trip was Pemba. The trip was very demanding and on several occasions it could have been very easy to "GIVE UP" but this young man and his teamof Sherpas Porters and Kitchen staff were always on hand with a cheery word "not far,not far" an illuminating smile, a steadying handon the more demanding parts of the trek and always encouragement.Nothing was ever too much trouble, at one point being offered a carry over one of the passes we trekked, REFUSED. Every need was met with graciousness. The Nepalese are a wonderful people and their country is Gob smashingly beautiful. It is my intention to return to this beautiful country to sample it great hospitality culture and beauty.Without a shadow of a doubt my first port of call will be PEMBA.

We trekked to Mera and Island Peak in Oct/Nov 2008, and met for the first time Ang Pemba Sherpa, our Sirdar for the trip. Without doubt, Ang Pemba turned the trip into one that will stay in our memory forever. His professionalism, climbing skill, organization and leadership qualities all contributed to make the trip a great success for us. We would have no hesitation in recommending Pemba, and hope we will take a trip with him again!
